It was an AWESOME Weekend!!!!!

(Click on the pics for greater detail.)

Tyler landing a jump (I was a little late to show the 'air' he got).

The weekend began on Friday afternoon, when Cassi headed off for work and we delivered Katie to a friends home for an overnighter. Friday evening, it was just Audra, the boys and I at the house vegging out with some TV. On Saturday morning, the boys and I left the house at 5am to enjoy a Boy's Day Out.....a day of skiing and riding at Keystone (Audra had class and Cassi had to work). The day was just amazing!!!! These pics show how crazy the weather in Colorado can be. All day Saturday in Colorado Springs, it was very heavily overcast with on and off snow. At Keystone...it was those beautiful, blue, Colorado skies.

Here is a pic of the boys with the Dillon Resevior in the background.

Bryce with a 'Manual' (basically a wheelie on a snowboard). Bryce and Tyler can ride a 'Manual' for dozens of yards down the slope.

After about 5 hours on the slopes, the boys and I rushed home, so that I could sweep my lovely bride off her feet.

The Broadmoor....All I can say is WOW!!!!

This weekend I decided to take Audra to the Broadmoor. We both needed the 'get-away' to clear our minds and just spend some time with one-another. For us, it is a wonderful get-away, because we are only 15 miles from the house. The kiddos enjoyed a night to themselves. I am sure Tyler ate all sorts of sugar without regulation. The Broadmoor is a true 5 star resort. From the time you arrive, they take care of everything. This is a pic of Audra just outside the main lobby.

The first evening we had reservations at the Penrose Room. A very nice place to eat, where you simply order what you want for each course of the meal and three waiters are at your beckon call. A pic of Audra all 'dolled-up' for the dinner....for me it was a suit and tie. The Penrose Room requires a jacket for men and dresses for the women.

From the balcony of our room, we had a wonderful view of the ponds in the middle of the property. With our door open we could hear the Trumpeter Geese and the Swans honking and paddling around the pond where there was no ice. When we arrived, it was still snowing...our 6th weekend of snow in a row.

After a lazy morning of laying around and breakfast room service, we toured the grounds and browsed the shops. Of course, it involved a trip to the coffee shop and a Soy Latte.

Audra and I have been some very nice places in the past three years to include: Madera Beach, Florida; Maui, HI; Whistler, British Columbia; Seattle, WA; Honolulu, HI.....not to mention, places that I have stayed on business like the Phoenician in Scottsdale, but I must say that the Broadmoor can hang with the best of them, exceeding most. The Penrose Room was the fanciest and finest dinner I have ever had the opportunity to enjoy.

I know that most don't think of Colorado Springs for a get-away, but I could recommend the Broadmoor without reservation. We are looking forward to a summer, weekend at the Broadmoor, as they have great, couples packages that include golf. By the way, the Broadmoor is the home of the PGA US Senior Open.....All three of their courses are amazing.

PDL Winter Conference, and.....more Snow!!!!

This past week I spent 5 lovely days in Phoenix for a company-wide,Winter Meeting. It was a great week of informative sessions and trainings, as well as celebration and awards.

All I can say about the pic to the right is.....I have the privilege of working with the best team in the company. Not only did we blow past our revenue goals for 2006, but we also had the greatest number of Account Executives in the company attain their individual goals for the year.....awesome, awesome, awesome team!!!!!!

A pic of Todd and me at our banquet and awards ceremony. Todd is our Account Executive in Washington.

Then, upon arriving back in Denver on Saturday and driving home to the Springs....I realized that we are having the 5th weekend in a row of snow storms. These pics are of the Black Forest area, which is my route home from DIA....about 5 miles North of our house.

Katie's Birthday...Our baby is 12 Years Old!

(For a larger view, click on the picture.)

As you can see from the previous post, our day started off very
cold, but we were eventually able to venture out. Katie's "meal out" was at Bennett's BBQ and she enjoyed a plate of Baby Back Ribs with her friend Megan.

Our next stop was the Mall, where Katie and Megan designed and built thier own stuffed animals. Katie chose a Husky and named him "Jack".

When we asked Katie what she wanted for her birthday, she said.......

#1 Ninetindo Game Cube

#2 Rachel Ray Cook Book

Oh boy.....proud daddy, I am. I know she will be a great cook!!!

Here is the cake and our 12 year old!

By the way, if you want to click on the word "Comments" below, you can leave a Happy Birthday Message for Katie!

It was a little chilly!!!!

This morning, we awoke to a chilly morning. Can you see that the indoor temperature is 46 degrees and the outdoor temp is 8 degrees? That is actually the temp, after a bit of time with the fireplace burning and after the sun came up to warm things up outside.

The temp, when we awoke, was actually -1.6 degrees outside and 42 degrees inside.

You are probably wondering.....how in the heck did it get in the low 40's in the house.....????? Well, we had a pressure switch go bad on the furnace and it did not run all night.

After a 9am visit by the Cooling/Heating Company....we were up and cooking with a warm house again.

This was certainly a situation where one can appreciate a down comforter!!!!

Braces and Graduation....

Finally!!!!! Thank goodness I am not dating a teenager any longer....

Ok, I'm sure that sounds weird, but my baby doll has had braces for the past two years and she reached the point of removal this week.

But, it is just a swap.....Cassi had her braces installed this week.

And......
