It has been a couple of weeks since we skied, so Audra and I decided to head to Copper. This is likely our last day of skiing at Copper this year. Our next ski trip will be a three-day getaway up at Steamboat.
We had a blast together. The conditions were amazingly great, despite the 49 degree temps at the base. We just stayed up high, away from the crowds and the snow was outstanding.

New Job, New Company
Sunday up at Winter Park
For various reasons, it has been three weeks or so since we have skied. And honestly, when the alarm went off on Sunday morning, it was very difficult for Audra and I to roll out of bed. It was even harder to get Katie and Tyler up. But, we fought off the laziness and hit the road for Winter Park. It was a beautiful day and the conditions were really good.
Tyler found this little jump and we circled around for a second 'go at it'. Here is a video of Tyler and Katie hitting the jump. Katie is our careful one, but Tyler caught about 5 feet of air!

Sausage Making....Smith Style......
Thanks to Mimi and her generous population of whitetail deer, we were able to add about 30 pounds of lean deer meet to the freezer....for further processing. Today, Tyler and I decided to dive in to the task. Audra and I purchased 22lbs of Pork, Boston Butts to fatten up the sausage.
First was all the processing and trimming of meat.
My 'hand-crank' grinder did the task, grinding 43 lbs of meat.... twice. Yep, first there is the course grind and then there is the fine grind.
Everyone pitched in to turn the crank.... even Audra!
The new, vacuum seal machine 'worked liked a top'.
We ended up with 37 packages of breakfast sausage.
And yep.... it cooked up in excellent fashion!!!

Cassi's 22nd
Our big girl turned 22 years old!!!! Cassi drove down from Boulder so we could celebrate her birthday. We feasted on fine food and Audra made Cassi.....Gammer's Chocolate Sheet Cake.

Couples Day at Copper
With the help of Katie, the Millers and Lanes headed to the mountains for a fun-filled day of wonderful skiing in new snow. Katie stayed back in Colorado Springs, keeping a careful eye on Ren, Kate and Ada.
It was a great day with great friends.
Generally the weather was pretty darn good, but at times the snow really came down.

The drive home was a little challenging at times.
